  7. INGspool offers the application developer substantial productivity gains in
  8. providing an interface to Ingres report printing.  There is no need to develop
  9. complex code to handle the spooling or report output.  Features include the
  10. following:  provides end-users with a consistent interface for the running of
  11. reports; allows user to enter or set default run-time parameters, further
  12. simplifying the user's task of printing reports; executes each report as a
  13. background process thereby releasing the terminal back to the user; can be
  14. used to schedule any process, not just reports; allows reports to be directed
  15. to specific network devices ensuing system resources are effectively utilized;
  16. defines authorized uses to specified reports; presents users with a standard
  17. interface for specifying the printer, number of copies, and time to run the
  18. requested report; allows control over the number of reports running at any one
  19. time, thus avoiding resource overload; provides users with a quality interface
  20. for managing the INGspool report queue.  The queue can be reordered,
  21. rescheduled, reports removed, and the print options changed for a waiting
  22. report; allows default printers to be assigned to each user together with
  23. their location; maintains printer information.
